<p>According to the present invention, a method of manufacturing cast metal bodies, for example moulded iron metal or iron metal alloy castings or ingots, is characterized in that instead of an anti piping agent, a reusable insulating material, which prevents radiation and convection, is applied at a small distance from the level of the metal but not in direct contact with the metal.
