The system for inserting beer barrel bungs has a container holding a large number of the plastics bungs, inside which they are sorted and separated and discharged by compressed air into a delivery line connected to an applicator nozzle. This is attached to a pneumatic applicator head with an operating trigger attached and suspended from an overhead rail along which it can travel. Another branch on the nozzle is fitted with a tube connected with a water tank so that water can be used as an applicator medium, the water being supplied under pressure. The applicator head has a further connection for a compressed air supply line operated by the trigger, and connected to the separator unit.
