The flat is esp. for a pneumatic switch and has a float body which actuates an adjusting element moving between two active positions. The float arrangement is used for actuating valves or switches, e.g. in gas separators. The float body (17) is made of nonmagnetic material and has a long slender permanent magnet (20) aligned in its moving direction. The adjusting element (30) is made partly of magnetic material and it can move parallel to the moving direction of the float body (17). The adjusting element has two stops (24, 25) made of magnetic materials arranged on opposite sides of the adjusting element. The distance between the two stops is greater than the dimensions of the adjusting element in these directions.
