1377339 Producing desacetoxycephalosporin C ELI LILLY & CO 17 April 1973 [26 April 1972 (4) 9 April 1973] 18387/73 Heading C2C Desacetoxycephalosporin C is produced by aerobically cultivating a desacetoxycephalosporin C- and penicillin N-CO-producing micro-organism of the genus Cephalosporium, Emeicellopsis, Scopulariopsis, Paecilomyces or Diheterospora in aqueous nutrient medium and then isolating desacetoxycephalosporin C from the resulting culture medium. The preferred organisms are Cephalosporium chrysogenum ATCC 14615, Cephalosporium sp. NRRL 5445, 5446, 5447, 5712, 5716, 5718, 5719, 5720, 5721, 5722, 5723, 5724 and 5725; Emericellopsis sp. NRRL 5446, 5447, 5713, 5714 and 5717; Scopulariopsis sp. NRRL 5715; Paecilomyces carneus NRRL 5711; and Diheterospora chlamydosporia NRRL 5728. The product is isolated by acidifying the whole culture broth to about pH 2, filtering off the mycelium and adsorbing the product on carbon followed by elution with aqueous acetone. |
