Collector combines a better utilisation of the available area with reduced costs for the mfr. and the installation on site. The heat absorbing parallel tubes through which the heat transfer medium flows are now thermally interconnected by metal bands at right angles to them. The bands have an undulating shape and contact each tube tangentially. Successive bands contact the tubes at diametrally opposite points. The bands represent heat collectors which transfer the heat by radiation and conduction to the tubes. In an embodiment the bands are replaced by convex metal plates.
