In the case of the described busbar coupling, parallel end surfaces (15) of busbars (13) form fixed-position contact pieces. The latter can be bridged by a helical spring (5) as a moving contact link. The helical spring (5) simultaneously takes over the supply of power and ensures a suitable contact pressure. The surfaces of the turns of the helical spring (5) which is used are already tilted laterally to a certain extent in the unstressed state, and this tilting is increased when the helical spring is pushed in between the fixed-position contact pieces (13). It is thus possible to achieve a soft spring characteristic, to compensate for large tolerances and to achieve very good material filling when bridging the separating gap. The helical springs (5) can be replaced without effort and cost-effectively, as the single component which is subject to wear. Use of the described busbar coupling makes available an extraordinarily cost-effective separating element for electrical installations. <IMAGE>
