An air conditioning system also uses a heat pump to transfer heat from a warmer part of a house or building to a cooler part. Also, hot and cold air is supplied to maintain a comfortable temperature in winter and summer. The system uses a twin tube water circuit. The system includes a thermostatically controlled switch (8) to control two pumps (4, 5) to reverse the direction of flow between a condenser (3) and the water circulating and return lines. This water cooled condenser is connected to a damper (1) between a fan and an evaporator (2) via a compressor (12). The system is controlled by comparison with a nominal value based on the average temperature of the return line.
