<p>A ski for use in deep snow has a slot down the middle of its rear end (2) extending nearly as far as the heel engaging portion of the safety binding. The slot is wider at the rear, tapering to a curved termination (5). The slot is formed by two sides (4) straight along the outside edges, but sloping along the inside edges (3). The slot is bridged by a curved flexible cover (7) which also tapers downwards from the rear. The cover can be made from a set of overlapping strips.</p> |
