<p>PURPOSE:To make it possible to regenerate a trap in a short time by leading high pressure gas into an exhaust passage from the lower stream side of the trap for guiding the gas to ventilate the inside of the trap, so as to ignite and burn captured fine exhaust particles by way of blowing and floating the fine particles inside a chamber, at the time of the regeneration of the trap. CONSTITUTION:Fine particles in exhaust gas are captured by a trap 13 during normal operation of an engine, and cleaned exhaust gas is discharged into the atmosphere. Meanwhile, when the trap 13 is regenerated, it is judged whether internal pressure of a tank 15 is over a set value or not, and when it is No, the operation for the sake of raising the internal pressure in the tank (engine revolution speed increasing operation) is made to be indicated. When the internal pressure is over the set value, together with closure of both closing valves 24, 26 at the time of stoppage of a vehicle and yet stopping the engine 1, an electromagnet valve 17 is opened and high pressure exhaust gas in the tank 15 is led into a chamber 19 through an exhaust passage 12 in a lower course of the trap 13 and the trap 13. Fine exhaust particles captured thereby are made to blow to be floated in the chamber 19, and thee are burnt through electrification of an ignition plug 20.</p> |
