The shaft 4 of an electric motor carrying eccentric vibration-producing composite weights 7 is mounted in roller bearings 5 which have their races force-fitted to the frame 2 and shaft 4 to reduce radial clearances to a predetermined value which is constant over the length of each roller. Ball bearings 6 prevent endwise movement of the shaft whose ends are splined for adjustable engagement with separate parts of each weight 7. The bearing clearance is reduced to a value which is just sufficient to prevent the vibrations from damaging the motor shaft or bearing surfaces.</p> |
