The insulation is on the inside of the vessel, and the hot water inlet is of large cross-section. The hot-water outlet is at the top of the vessel and there is an entry point for a cold water inlet and outlet in the bottom part of the vessel. Pref. the insulation is foamed polyurethane or polystyrene. The hot water inlet can be arranged to discharge into the vessel at roughly halfway up it, or it can extend nearly to the bottom, with ports formed at various points up it, the lowermost ports being of larger cross-section. A throttle over its entire cross-section can be incorporated in it near the top.
