<p>Device for monitoring the position of the guide and support rolls in the billet guide track of a continuous casting machine where two rows of rolls form a passage through which the cast billet or slab travels. The device consists of a template provided with two reference surfaces which are situated on each side of the two imaginary lines formed by the rolls and defining the track. The reference surfaces are at a distance from the lines which is at max. equal to the permissible tolerance for adjusting the rolls; the template is fed along the track and the rolls are rotated to check the passage width, i.e. the slab width. The device ensures correct adjsutment of the track allowing slabs of correct thickness to be cast.</p> |
