The machine uses a rolling or hammering process to produce spokes with extremities of increased dia. and a straight length (R1) of uniform reduced dia. between anchorage formation (R2). A wire is fed through the machine by auto-pincers (8, 9) in co-ordinated inversely displacing slides (2). The two slides (2) are located horizontally and vertically in a sub-frame (1), and maintain a constant flow of previously reduced and dressed wire (R1, R2). One of the slides is coupled to the rolling or hammering unit (4) so that the enlarged end formations are automatically produced, and the trailing pincer (9) cuts the wire into spoke lengths during recoil.
