Extruder plastisol feeder has a supply hopper whose upper sall portions carry a support for a vertical cylinder whose piston rod carries at its lower free end a presser foot reciprocated along the hopper discharge opening. The stroke of the foot is controlled by a pair of end switches actuated by a pitman which is associated with the piston rod. Plasticising rate of highly viscous polyethylene granulate treated with an additive and, processed at operative pressure of 7 bar, corresp. to a piston pressure of 200 kg can be increased by 9 to 11%.
