Each connecting chain element has at least three tubular bodies running at right angles to the direction of motion and is designed to increase the quietness of operation. Two outer tubular bodies (1) and an inner body are connected by end couplings (4) and intermediary couplings (5) via bolts. Rollers (8) run on roller surfaces (12, 14) on the tubular bodies. One roller surface (14) is formed on webs (13) positioned laterally from the bodies (2). These roller surfaces are so designed that the elastic deformation of the bands (9) on the circumference of the rollers ensures a constant uniform central positioning of the rollers relative to the base.
