The arrangement identifies the injection time on injection valves and jets and evaluates the flow cross-section. A laser beam which touches on a mouth of the injection orifice (12) impinges on a light-sensitive sensor (14). The beam is then converted into proportional electrical signals and is represented in an electronic instrument (17). The electrical signals are displayed as analogue signals on the screen of an oscillograph. The signals are digitally displayed with the air of electrical timers (19). The light source can be a laser with beam splitters, light diodes or incandescent lamps while photo diodes are used as light sensors.
