PURPOSE:To provide a safe hyperlipidemia remedy having an excellent anti- hyperlipidemia activity, having no adverse effect and capable of being stored for a long period, containing as an active ingredient an earthworm dried powder prepared by grinding the living body of a filth-removed earthworm and subsequently vacuum-drying the ground product under a specific condition. CONSTITUTION:A hyperlipidemia remedy contains as an active ingredient a dried powder which is prepared by leaving a living earthworm is fresh water maintained at a temperature of 6-26 deg.C or in weak acidic water maintained at a temperature of 6-26 deg.C and at a pH of 3-6.5 for a predetermined time (a time required for perfectly discharging faces soil) to remove filth from the earthworm, grinding the treated earthworm, degasifying the liquid ground product and subsequently vacuum-drying the degasified product under a vacuum degree of <=30mmHg, especially <=1mmHg, while stepwisely heating the product finally to a temperature of 70-80 deg.C. The dried powder is useful for treating hyperlipidemia or a combination thereof with thrombosis, deep intravenous thrombosis, hypertension, hypotension, lumber deformans, cerebral arteriosclerosis, cardiomegaly or coronary insufficiency. The dried powder is preferably administered in a dose of 0.002-9g a day. |
