External current anode corrosion protection device - has anode and reference electrode on common support on tank wall

The device gives cathodic protection against corrosion, partic. of hot water tanks with passive anti-corrosion layer on their internal walls. The external-current electrode, and a reference electrode keeping its setting at optimum potential by means of a potentiometer, are mounted on the same support for mounting on the tank wall. When working, the reference electrode is immediately adjacent to the tank wall, and insulation is provided between it and the external-current anode. The insulation can typically be in one piece with the support and extending at right angles to the tank wall, and for a length at least equal to a multiple of the distance between the free end of the reference electrode and the wall.
