A connector is for coaxial cables. The connector, ie plug or socket, has four parts minimising complexity and time of assembly. The connector has an orthodox inner conductor (8) into which the cable (6) centre conductor (6d) is soldered. The outer conductor or braiding (6b) and outer insulation (6a) are trapped between a conical metal surface (5b) and the tapered inner surface of the cable end of the connector shell. The conical part is terminated towards the mating face of the connector in a right angled shoulder (5) which has a ribbed perimeter fitting closely within a parallel section of the shell wall (7d). A cylindrical insulator (9) is push fitted from the mating surface of the connector to complete the assembly.
