Wheel mounted by roller bearing - has laterally locked side-plates to hold wheel position and circlips to maintain bearing assembly

The wheel (1) is mounted on an axle (2) by a roller bearing (3) circlips (6) holding the rings (3, 4) in position. Further circlips (7) lock the roller assembly and the wheel body (1). Two side plates (8) of good wearing properties are placed at each side of the rollers by a spacer (9), the plates (8) being locked laterally and so form stops for the wheel. Their hardness is similar to that of the rings. The plates (8) press against the side pieces of the wheel and pref. have a hardness of 150-170 kg/mm2.
