An acoustic or visual warning signal on a loose ski-which could endanger other skiers -is produced by a battery operated attachment on the ski. It can be an integral part of the deflector bracket which is normally located near the front end of the ski. The signal generator is switched on when the ski boot comes off the binding during a fall. This is done by a spring-loaded switch arm which is normally held in its open position when the ski boot is located in the ski binding. The warning signal is also useful to find the ski if it comes to rest, covered up in soft snow.
|
