1,175,415. Change-speed gearing. ROBERT BOSCH G.m.b.H. 24 Jan., 1967 [25 Jan., 1966], No. 3515/67. Heading F2D. In a change-speed gear-box providing four forward speeds and a reverse, in which gearstricting rods 12-14 carry forks 15-17 selectively engageable by a finger 18 on a shift rod 20, the shift rod is rotated and presented to each fork in turn by means of a guide 25, through which one end 24 of the rod 20 passes, positioned by a lever 27 one end of which runs in a steppedspiral cam-groove 28 in a disc 23, and the respective gear is engaged by a crank arm 21 pivoted to the disc 23 and adapted to move the rod 20 axially, the fork 15 on rod 12 which engages the reverse gear only having a length at least half the total travel of the crank arm 21 providing a lost motion connector between rods 12 and 20, so that a shift from first to reverse ratios may be made by continuous rotation of the disc 23. The disc is driven by a reversible electric motor through reduction gear (30), Fig. 1 (not shown). The crank arm 21 may be replaced by a cam, and/or the crank arm 21 and cam disc 23 replaced by linear adjusting motors. |
