摘要 905,591. Vibratory finishing. LORD CHEMICAL CORPORATION. Sept. 29, 1960 [Oct. 9, 1959], No. 33549/60. Class 60. [Also in Group XXIV] A vibrating machine for finishing parts comprises a frame, a cradle journalled on a horizontal axis within the frame for orientation from a substantially horizontal position to a substantially vertical position, a bowl holder, means for resiliently supporting the bowl holder with respect to the cradle, means for imparting vibratory movement to the bowl holder and a removable attachable and detachable bowl insertable into and withdrawable from the bowl holder. A bowl 18 is secured in a holder 12 by bolts 19 passing through angle members 15, 17 carried by the holder and bowl respectively, so that the bowl is readily removable, e.g. for replacement of the rubber lining 20. The holder 12 is located in a recess 10 in a cradle 7. Transverse members 104, 105 project downwardly from the cradle, member 104 being attached to the end of the cradle and member 105 being attached to a transverse member 106 within the cradle. Sets of coil-springs 111, 112 are provided, each set consisting of two compression-type springs having their lower ends seated on angle members 109, 110 extending the entire distance between the members 104, 105 and their upper ends attached to sets of brackets 114, 115 extending from opposite ends of the holder 12. Elliptical leaf-springs 119, 120 encircling the coil-springs are mounted between lower brackets 107, 108 on the members 104, 105 and upper brackets 117, 118 on the holder 12. The cradle 7 is a rectangular structure formed of longitudinal and transverse channels and is pivotally mounted by stub shafts 8, 9 on end frame members 2, 3 interconnected by a tie member 4 and having a base 1. For dumping the contents of the bowl 18 the cradle is tilted by an hydraulic or pneumatic cylinder 101, the pistonrod of which engages a lever 99 attached to the end of stub-shaft 8. The holder 12 is vibrated by an eccentric 21 having cylindrical extensions 24, 25 mounted by ball-bearings 32, 33 in journal supports 28, 29 carried in depending extensions 30, 31 on the ends of the holder 12. Cylindrical shoulders 22, 23 on the eccentric pass through centring plates 26, 27 mounted in the journal supports 28, 29. The eccentric is enclosed within a guard 121 extending between the extensions 30, 31. One end of the eccentric is connected by a flexible coupling 38 and coupling member 43 with a drive-shaft 39, journalled in bearings 40, 41 depending from a plate 44. One end of the plate 44 is fulcrumed at 45 on a member 46 depending from the cradle 7, the other end of the plate 44 receiving a screw 47 supported from a bracket 48 secured to the cradle 7; the screw 47 carries nuts 49, 50 whereby the plate 44 is adjusted. The drive-shaft 39 is driven, through a belt 59, by a shaft 55 ; the belt 59 is tensioned by an idler roller 70 carried by a plate 74 adjustable, along transverse bars 77 secured to the cradle 7, by a screw 81 locked by a setscrew 82. The shaft 55 is mounted in ball-bearings 53, 54 in a housing 51 mounted in a sleeve 52 carried in the end of the cradle 7, the shaft being driven, through a belt 61 within a guard 62, by reducing gear 66 and a variable-speed motor 65 supported, on a base 67 and bracket 68, by the base 1 of the frame. The cradle 7 has upstanding brackets 83, 84 to which are pivoted levers 87, 88 carrying a bar 89 upon which the end of a loading shoot may be connected for steadying the shoot immediately over the open top of the bowl 18 for loading materials and media into the bowl. When the shoot is removed the bar is folded downwardly against the top of the cradle 7. The bowl is loaded with parts, media and, where necessary, chemicals and after the vibratory cycle is completed the bowl is closed by a rinsing cover 90 held in position by clamps 91. The cover 90 has a part 95 to facilitate lifting or lowering of the cover by a crane or block and tackle and also has a tap 96 through which washing fluid can be admitted to the bowl. The bowl may have a drain spout 97 with a closure 98.
