A ski boot (1a) has a spring steel clip (13) moulded into the heel (11) during manufacture. The clip (13) is made from spring steel strip bent to a U shape with a bulge (22) formed near the base of the U. The clip (13) enables the ski boot (11a) to be fastened to the ski by means of the clasp (20). The clasp (20) has a rolled over end (19) for a hinge pin (17) which attaches it to the bracket (12). The bracket (12) is fixed to the ski with countersunk screws (14). In order to fix the boot (11a) to the ski the clasp is swung upwards to the vertical position so that its central slot is forced over the bulge (22) and held firmly against the heel (11). Making the clip (13) integral with the heel (11) results in a very simple ski binding.
