1533797 Spraying liquid sludge FARROW IRRIGATION Ltd 20 July 1977 [28 July 1976] 31481/76 Heading AID Liquid sludge is sprayed from an oscillating gun 2 carried on a land sledge 1 which is drawn along the field as the supply hose 4 is wound onto a reel 5 driven by the tractor power take-off, the hose 4 and the gun 2 being automatically emptied of sludge when sludge ceases to flow, by discharge of compressed air from a reservoir 10 filled by a compressor 9 during operation. The compressed air is released by a valve 11 operated by a drop in pressure in -the sludge supply. The reel 5 is stopped by contact of the sledge with a bar 12 which is connected to a hydraulic cylinder 13 connected to the drive control of the reel 5. Pumping of the sludge is also halted by operation of the bar 12. The sledge 1 is provided with an anchor post 3 which pivots when sludge flows to the gun 2, to release the sledge 1. |
