PURPOSE: To provide a robust, adjustable, supportable, pressure-relievable backrest device by holding the backrest in an adjacent relationship to the wheelchair vertical post portions and in engagement with respective brackets while received in an recess, then vertically positioning said backrest along the vertical post portions, and fitting a cushion removably to the front of a plastic shell. CONSTITUTION: Backrest mount device 30 has plastic shell 20 fitted to vertical post portions 60, followed by vertically adjusting plastic shell 20 in reference to vertical post portions 60. Cushion 70 is removably fitted to plastic shell 20 and vertical recess 80 within cushion 70 provides a void space to receive pad 90 that is filled with a fluid, thereby serving to protect a user's spine, particularly his chest part. Lumbar support 120 is vertically adjustable along the recess 80 of cushion 70. Each bracket 40 is fitted to vertical post portion 60 and is vertically adjustable while mounted thereon. |
