<p>In order to prepare these casting compositions, a modified compost is mixed with a curing synthetic resin or synthetic resin mixture, a liquid compost extract and castor oil, glycerol, cobalt salt solution, curing agent and accelerator. The modified compost is obtained by composting refuse by keeping the compost formed in a heatable container together with a solvent in a weight ratio of from 1:2 to 1:4 until ripe and then drying the container contents by heating. The liquid compost extract is obtained by extracting compost, but not the modified compost, with an organic solvent at elevated temperature. Titanium oxide or carbon black may be added to the casting composition. By application to a substrate or introduction into moulds followed by curing, the casting composition can be used to produce mouldings, such as, in particular, films and sheets, but also road surfaces. The mouldings are water-repellent, petrol- and oil-resistant, resistant to acids and lyes, have high abrasion resistance and can easily be machined.</p> |
