[Also in Division A5] Novel dodecylguanidine salts of the general formula wherein R stands for an alkyl radical, preferably having 1 to 4 carbon atoms are produced by reacting an alkyl sulphuric acid-S-alkyl isothiuronium salt of the formula in which R has the same meaning as above and R 1 is an alkyl radical, preferably having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, with dodecylamine. The process is advantageously carried out at a temperature of 10-100‹ C. in the presence of an inert solvent such as water, the lower alcohols and ethers such as dioxan. |
