The operating or working time of ic engines is recorded. Signals from electric or electronic magnets ignition are used without any additional current sources. The engine is used to power work tools such as lawn mowers, fire extinguisher pumps, building machinery, motor saws, emergency current generators etc. Operating time monitoring is essential for correct oil changes, lubrication, servicing and worn parts replacement, of the work tools, so as to prolong the effective life, and to reduce breakdowns. To apply the appts. an electric supplyis taken from the primary winding of the magneto ignition unit, besides the earth connections with the motor, only one connection is required: this is to the short-circuiting contact brought out from the ignition system.
