The waste gas turning equipment has a furnace with peripheral wall and hearth, together with a number of torch- type burners. Each burner has a main body with base (12) and peripheral wall (11), with a main pipe (17) underneath for the waste gas. Branch pipes (19) extend upwards from the main one, each having a zigzag section extending for part of its length. Gas jets (20) are fitted to the top ends of the pipes and inside the main body of the burner.The zigzag portions can each be formed by one pipe extending upwards, and a second parallel to it and extending downwards from the jet.
