The shoe cupboard having at least one folding door (11) contains two shoe receiving compartments (15, 16), of which one compartment (15) is suspended in the interior of the cupboard (13) so as to be pivotable about a horizontal pivot axle (14) and the other compartment (16) is fixed to the inside of the folding door (11) which is pivotable at the lower end about a horizontal axle (12). The two receiving compartments (15, 16) are connected to one another in an articulated manner by control levers (17) in such a way that, when the folding door (11) is closed, they are positioned vertically in the interior (13) of the cupboard, the tips of the shoes (20) pointing upwards in one compartment (15) and downwards in the other compartment (16). This results in a space-saving storage position and a readily accessible removal and insertion position for the shoes. <IMAGE>
