A heald is attached by a hook to a knife above the comber board, both the latter and the knife performing equal movement vertically, but in the opposite direction. A recorder consists of a resilient hook connected via a guide to the heald hook, the resilient hook interacting with a second knife and moveing at the required moment under the action of the second knife, thus exercising a pull on the guide and heald hook. The latter is then withdrawn from the radius of action of the knife above the comber board.
