Protective helmet or armoured jacket - has adhesive bonded sheet steel shells enclosing hardened middle shell

Three helmet shaped pressed steel shells are joined by adhesive bonding. The shells are made so that the rolling direction of each shell run differently. The shell enclosed by two other shells is hardened before bonding pref. by a nitriding process. The adhesive bonding material is a plastics resin. More than three shells can be used and the rolling fibre orientation need not differ. The resistance of the helmet or jacket against penetration by bullets is high.
