Light-sensitive aq. soln. of a polymer, e.g. PVA, PVP, gelatin etc., photosensitised with a water-soluble diazonium cpds. contains 0.001-1, (0.05-0.5) wt.% fluorescent organic cpd(s)., e.g. anthracene, eosin, erythrosin, phenanthrene, beta-naphthol/beta-naphtholate, o-methoxybenzoic acid. The soln. is used in the prepn. of a suspension, esp. a phosphor suspension for the prodn. of a CRT screen, esp. for colour picture tubes. The fluorescent cpd. increases the sensitisation, so that much shorter exposure times are needed, without detrimental effects on the soln. or suspension.
