Automatic weighing for loading of vehicles in bulk or in sacks is performed by removal of the excess. This overcomes the necessity for compensation for amounts in suspension after stopping the weighing process. A container (4) is connected to a system of weighing levers (6) which are connected to an indicator (1). The weighing container is supplied from an upper container (3) through a valve (14). An automatic system ensures that an excess is passed through. The excess is removed via an outlet (7) open or closed by a motor controlled trap (8). This excess flows down a slide to a container (12) for return to the upper container via an Archimedes screw (13).
