1512390 Frame joints; connecting pieces for joining structural members YOSHIDA KOGYO KK 10 Oct 1975 [11 Oct 1974] 41669/75 Heading F2M The middle rail 15 of a door or similar building component is of tubular construction and is secured to a vertical stile 11 by first securing a metal strip 35 or 41 to the end of the rail 15 by screws (39) 44 passed through apertures (37) 43 in a central portion of the strip and entering threaded bores (27, 28) in sockets 25, 26 formed integrally on two opposite inner walls of the rail 15, then securing the strip to the inner wall 30 of the stile by further screws 39<SP>1</SP> or 47 engaging threaded holes 31 in the wall 30. In Fig. 3, the stile 11 has a shallow recess formed by flanges 32, 33 to receive the strip, whereas in Fig. 4 deeper flanges 48 provide a deeper recess, the strip 41 having a central raised portion 42 in contact with the end of rail 15. |
