<p>Water-soluble copper complex dyes of the formula 1, in which the individual symbols have the following meaning: A = H, Cl or acylamino of a lower aliphatic or aromatic carboxylic acid, B = methyl, carboxyl or carbalkoxy having 2 to 5 C atoms, X = a vinyl or beta -sulphatoethylsulphonyl group and n = 1 or 2, are prepared by reacting compounds of the formula 4, wherein R = H or OH with copper donors, in the presence of an oxidising agent if R = H. If X in formula 1 is a beta -sulphatoethyl group, this can optionally be converted to the vinyl group by means of an alkaline agent. The dyes of formula 1 may be used to dye and print fibre materials, giving yellowish-brown to reddish-brown dyeings and prints. <IMAGE></p> |
