<p>A lifejacket for use e.g. in water sports comprises a main body of elastic material so that it can stretch to fit the wearer, and buoyancy elements attached to the main body to produce a pre-determined buoyancy. Pref. the buoyancy elements fit into pockets attached to the main body and form a collar with extensions extending down the chest. The jacket may be of a plastic foam which also provides insulation. The jacket automatically holds the head of the wearer above water level and also provides good protection when getting in and out of boats.</p> |
