A ferrule for fixing to the end of a rope or cable includes a base plate having an annular lug surrounding an aperture and a top plate having a corresponding aperture and lug, so that when the lugs are interengaged the plates can pivot about the axis of the aperture. Adjacent the aperture of the base plate is a pillar around which a reverse loop of the end of rope can be positioned. The rope then apsses back around a track formed by the outer surfaces of the lugs. The ferrule can be fitted quickly to e.g. prevent fraying of the rope. The rope is held solely by friction thereby reducing the risk of damaging the rope. |
