In a multi-phase rectifier system, a switch (S2, S3) for the step-by-step switch-on is in each case only provided in two (x, y) of three rectifier feed lines (x, y, z), but the slow charging-up of the filter capacitor (C) in no-load condition, which is possible via the third rectifier feed line (z), is prevented by a switchable current path (S5) in parallel with the filter capacitor (C), the current path (S5) being switched through whenever the switches (S2, S3) in the rectifier feed lines (x, y, z) are opened. Using this circuit, one vacuum switch can be saved for in each case one three-phase rectifier feed line group (x, y, z).
