发明名称 SHIP'S PROPELLER SHAFT STERN BEARINGS
摘要 1511913 Bearings J KUIKEN 6 April 1976 [15 May 1975] 20472/75 Heading F2A In a ship's stern bearing arrangement in which a propeller shaft is rotatably supported in a cylindrical journal bearing assembly, the assembly is non-rotatably contained in a cylindrical recess 6 in the stern frame boss 3 or stern tube, and sealed in by liquid-tight closing plate 14, and comprises, at the propeller end at least one spherical seated self-aligning bearing section 7, 8 the bore of which changes from a parallel shape at the after end into a convex shape continuing to the forward end corresponding to the curvature presented to the bottom of the bearing by a slight bending of the shaft. The bearing assembly may be axially split. In Fig. 1 bearing section 7 (e.g. white metal or plastics) is held in its spherical seat 8 by pin 9, while sleeve type bearing 10 is held in seat ring 11 by pin 12. Locking rod 13 prevents the assembly from rotating in recess 6, while pipe connections 20, 21 supply lubricant. Tapped holes 16, 17, 18 permit attachment of withdrawing gear. The single spherical seating (Fig. 1) may be replaced by a plurality of concentric spherical seating (Fig. 2). The arrangement allows maintainance and inspection without removing the propeller shaft from the self-aligning bearing, and allows alignment of the shaft with inboard machinery to be established before completing the assembly by insertion of bearing section 10.
