<p>The seat belt release mechanism provides automatic release action in cases where the vehicle catches fire after a collision. The seat belts (3, 4) are fitted with locks (1, 2) comprising electromagnets (6, 7). The electromagnets are connected to switchgear (8), which, in turn is wired to several thermionic converters fitted in various places of the car. If the vehicles catches fire at least one of the thermionic converters reacts to the heat and converts it into electric energy which is fed into switchgear (8). The output electric energy activates electromagnets (6, 7) which release the seat belt locks.</p> |
