The arrangement is intended to form a support for a roll (10) of material, such as sheet steel or paper, during transport. It comprises at least two longitudinal beams (1) with releasable securing blocks (2, 9) which beams are coupled to one another by two or more transvers rods (6) releasably coupled to the beams. The securing saddle (2) is fixed to the beams outside their centre line. The beams and/or transverse rods may have adjustable lengths. Each transverse rod may be provided with a tie rod.
