PREHEATING APPARATUS OF A DIESEL ENGINE

The cold start system incorporates a fuel jet and heater fitted to the engines induction manifold. The fuel jet is supplied with fuel by the vehicle pump or a battery driven auxiliary pump at a constant pressure. The fuel outlet from the jet is metered by a regulator responding to signals from pulse generator which are proportional to the engine r.p.m. indicator. By metering the fuel proportional to the engine speed intake the fuel combustion is not interrupted owing to a shortage of oxygen.
