<p>A transfer installation is used to remove the top member from a vertical stack and transfer it to the next station of a manufacturing process, e.g. box making. A segment (45) of a friction cylinder is located by a hinged arm (40) which rests on the top panel of the stack (12). When the friction roller segment (45) makes one revolution, the top panel is pushed forward until its leading edge is gripped by a pair of drive rollers (13). The supply stack is then raised over a distance that equals the panel thickness, thus the operation can be repeated. A spacer bracket (48) on the underside of the hinged arm (40) regulates the contact force produced by the friction roller segment.</p> |
