Endoscope for surgical use - has control head with coaxial side knobs to adjust focus of fibre optics and control orientation of viewing head

The endoscope is for surgical use and is fitted with the optics connected to a viewing head. The sheath can be orientated to the longitudinal axis by means of wires (14). The control head has a light source and an entry for a probe to pass down the sheath. The fibre optics image is returned (32) into a lens tube (6) for viewing. This tube is focused by a knob (35) at the side, a gear wheel (37) engaging a rack (38) to move it linearly. Coaxial with it, and underneath, is a larger knob (39) engaging a slide (43) each side.
