The refrigerating container is used for refrigeration, storage and transport especially of perishables such as foodstuffs. The container housing has thermal insulation, refrigeration plant and temperature regulator. This small sized container can be used for regional and long distance road and rail transport. The container housing is closed all round and thermally insulated. The storage chamber is separated from the compartment for refrigeration plant (21) and temp. regulator (3). The storage chamber is pressurised. The floor side walls and the ceiling of the chamber are gas tight and able to resist pressure.
