<p>A method is provided for reducing the ash content and the lead content of used motor oil by contacting the used oil with an aqueous solution of an ammonium phosphate. In one embodiment of the invention a used motor oil is treated in an integrated ecological method for removal of contained metal salts, tetraethyllead, gasoline, ammonia, and hydrogen sulfide so that removal of each of these contaminates can be accomplished without contaminating the environment by returning the removed components to the environment.</p> |
