A feed mechanism in feed devices having a trolley-supported mandrel, e.g. in pilgrim mills having feed velocity regulation, comprises rack(s) which engage(s) with toothed gear(s) joined with prim. anti-recoil toothed wheel(s) or other pawls and similar devices such that when disconnected the wheels the free. The trolley is not subject to the oscillatory axial movements and axially perpendicular movements which beset conventional devices and which weaken the piston-cylinder drive mechanism. Moreover the speed of advance of the trolley is more constant. |
