The craft carried the propeller on a stern bracket (10) which is connected to a rudder post and tiller (9). The bracket supports the power unit (2) and the propeller unit (5) with the propeller (3). The same bracket has a lower protective fin (30) below the propeller. The bracket is fitted with a hydraulic jack (11) fixed at one end (6) to the boat and receiving a supply of hydraulic fluid through the pipes (21, 22). The hydraulic jack forces the propeller out of the water. The kidney shaped slot (29) allows the movement of the jack to be increased.
